Flower Shed is open 7 days a week!
1. Change the water the flowers are sitting in as often as possible. Everyday or every second day is brilliant! This is because bad bacteria builds up in our water when left unchanged. By changing it you aren't allowing the bacteria build up and therefore your flowers aren't exposed to that bacteria and will last longer!
2.Cut your stems every time you change the water. When we cut the stems of our flowers they immediately take a big drink of water keeping them well hydrated. And by cutting them every time we change the water we can guarantee they are being hydrated with the lovely clean water.
3. Pull out any spent stems from your arrangement. Your arrangement will be filled with lots of different flowers that all have a different vase life. Some of the more delicate flowers may only last 4 days whereas some of the hearty Aussie natives could last up to 3 weeks! to ensure everything has its best chance at lasting, take out any dead flowers from your arrangement to make sure those dead flowers aren't spreading bad bacteria to your other healthy blooms.
4. location is really important! Keep your bouquet of flowers in an area away from heat or direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to sunlight will cause your flowers to dry out more quickly and the heat from the sunlight can lead to shriveling, wilting and drooping buds.
having a BLOOMING great week and enjoy your flowers!
